—Case study · ALUXIL GmbH, Gelnhausen

The 3D model right next to the price.

ALUXIL makes aluminium terrace roofs and carports and sells them directly on aluxil.de. Since 16 September 2026, every product page shows the system in 3D, and the model follows every choice the customer makes in the buy box.

Opens ALUXIL’s real product page with the 3D model already running. Change size, covering or colour on the right and watch the model follow.

01Starting point

A product you buy from a photo and a list.

A terrace roof is a large, made-to-measure purchase. The product pages had photos and a list of options: size, roof covering, colour and, for Cantiline, a console. What the customer actually gets in their own combination had to be imagined.

The questions that decide a sale were also hard to answer from a photo: how is it built, where does the rain go, and what does it look like in the evening.

02What we built

One model per system, driven by the buy box.

  • It follows every choice

Size, console, roof covering (polycarbonate, glass, solar, none) and colour come from the buy box. The model changes the moment the customer does. It has no option buttons of its own, so it can never disagree with the price.

  • It explains the product

Four switches: labels and dimensions, an exploded view of the parts, the water path from the roof through the posts, and the roof in the evening with LED light.

  • It costs the page nothing

The product photo appears at once. The 3D model loads only when the customer taps “3D”, so the page opens as fast as before.

  • It stays on ALUXIL’s server

Every file is served from aluxil.de: no third-party requests and no cookies, so it works without any consent banner entry.

  • It works on the phone

On small screens the model stays in view under the header while the customer scrolls through the options below it.

  • One model, more uses

The same model is the basis for the configuration pictures in the product gallery.

What we can and can’t say yet.

The 3D view went live on 16 September 2026. Visitor statistics, collected only with consent, started the day after. That is too short a period for honest figures on enquiries or sales, so we don’t publish any.

We will add them here once the sample is large enough to mean something.
