—Case study · QASTIC, Los Angeles
A furniture system you can walk through, from lunch to closing time.
QASTIC is an architecture and design studio in Los Angeles. For Lutie Café it designed an outdoor furniture system: a bench, adjustable tables, a chair and a stool that change through the day. Since 30 October 2026 QASTIC shows the system in 3D on lutie.qastic.com, built from the studio’s own Rhino files.

01Starting point
A system that moves, shown in photos and drawings.
What makes Lutie special is that it changes: tables move up and down, after hours the bench becomes a locked piece of furniture, and the chair and stool step aside. On the project page this could only be shown with photos and explanatory drawings.
The questions clients and architects ask are hard to answer with a photo: How does it look in each use? How is it locked up at night? What is each piece made of?
02What we built
The whole system in 3D – and every piece on its own.
From the studio’s CAD data
The model is built from QASTIC’s Rhino files. Sizes and shapes come straight from the design, not from a copy traced from photos.
A day at the café
Five scenes – Gathered, Solo, Lunch, Lounge and After hours – show how the system changes. In After hours the tables slide in and the bench seat flips up and latches.
Light and material
Four times of day from morning to evening, five powder coats and three tops for the bench. A short tour walks through the day.
Every piece on its own
Bench & tables, table, chair and stool each have their own view with an exploded view. “From box to …” shows how each piece is cut from its basic shape, as in the studio’s concept.
On the client’s domain
The page runs on lutie.qastic.com, in QASTIC’s design and with their texts and photos. The 3D adds to the page; it does not replace it.
Light on the page
The page opens with a still image. The 3D model starts only when a visitor clicks it, so scrolling stays as smooth as before.

What we can say so far – and what not yet.
The 3D page went live on 30 October 2026. That is too early for reliable numbers on visits or enquiries, so we don’t publish any.
We will add them here once there is enough data to mean something.
Your design, just as tangible.
Send us your CAD data or drawings. We’ll show you what your product or space could look like in 3D.
